The Italian furniture producer Rexite was founded in 1968 by Rino Boschet and
Rino Pirovano. Rexite has already received 66 international awards for its accessories
and furniture concepts for the living and office area. Their goal, to make products
which are simple but not ordinary, exceptional but not foreign, is achieved with
the use of special materials and colours. In doing this, the Italian designers
are also cautious not to neglect their objects ergonomic shape. Surfaces,
colours and materials melt into one room-symbiosis, intended to be individual
and functional for the user. Many different designers work for Rexite. Raul Babieri,
for example, created the wardrobe CACTUS. His wardrobes are made in one piece
with a special polymer, thus obtaining a special durability in an exclusive design.
The umbrella stands and the hooks (which are available in various models- see
proformshop) add colour accents to the design. In contrast, wardrobes from the
series NOX are made of sleek, elegant stainless steel. In the Rexite showroom
in Cusago, near Milan you can also view tables, chairs and shelves, all of which
are produced in the company's own production sites. The chairs from the series
OLIVIA, also by Babieri, consist of a seat made of plastic on 4 stainless steel
legs. Their design allows several to be stacked on top of each other. This also
applies to the stool WELL. Gabriella Montaguti, born in Milan, created the height
adjustable tables APPRENDISTA, which are available at Proformshop in many different
shapes and colours. The tables PIANO, GAS and ALTOPIANO, optionally also available
as high tables, have been awarded several international prizes, as has APPRENDISTA.
Giotto Stoppino (umbrella stand), Julian Brown (desk utensils), Giorgio Marianelli
(shelves and shelf system SALTIMBANCO) and Kuno Prey (desk articles) also design
for Rexite. Rexite products can be seen in many international exhibitions and
fairs.
