La Palma (lapalma) was established by Marcato Romano in the year 1978 and can look back at a more than thirty year old career. La Palma has always had the ambition to combine modern design and clear proportions to create a universal product that lasts out the course of time. The use of natural materials like wood, leather, glass, metal or wicker is characteristic for La Palma.
La Palma thinks that this is necessary to be able to get in touch with things of everyday life and to be able to enjoy even small details surrounded by objects that form a peaceful and cosy atmosphere. La Palma owes its success among others the continuing research on functionality and materials. La Palma only works with wood of controlled plantations and verifies all of the delivered raw materials very carefully.
For centuries La Palma is known for highest quality. Its founder Marcato Romano is especially responsible for this pleasing fact. His design talent arises for example in the products of the Aria, Brio or Rondo series. But Marcato Romano is not satisfied enough with his design achievements that is why also acts in the production where he is responsible for the technical and industrial realization.
In Cadoneghe close to Padova ,where the place of production is, each of La Palmas products has to pass through a careful final check before it can be shipped all over the world.
But La Palma does not confine itself to offer highest product quality it also emphasises great customer care and tries to consider the individual wishes of its partners.
La Palma gained great famousness with the well-known classic Lem stool designed by Shin + Tomoko Azumi that is available in various models.
The bar stool Lem convinces of quality, which is usual for La Palmas products, as well as of reasoned function.
Different Awards like the FX International Design Award or the Japanese Good Design Award are evidence enough for La Palmas high quality products.
