The company Gervasoni was founded in 1882 by Gionanni Gervasoni.
Since 1999 Piedro Gervasoni has been the president of the company, whilst the sons Giovanni and Michele manage it. Today, the producers of exclusive beds made of wicker woven material have their headquarters in the town of Udine.
The Italian designer Paola Navone has been responsible for their design since 1998.
Since its founding, the company Gervasoni has been renowned for its high quality woven design furniture, which also bought it world fame. Today, roughly 70 employees are occupied making high quality wicker weave furniture and in particular beds.
The production materials are primarily bamboo, rattan, cane, rawhide, grass, but also abaca, iron and aluminium.
These materials have replaced the original willow material, due to its difficult processing and have enjoyed international favourability ever since. A good 50% of the produced goods are exported worldwide. The exotic products also capture the feel of our time a little better...
Willow material is also not nearly as flexible and durable with the modern processing techniques.
The beds almost always remain natural. If beds are stained, then it is only with the use of environmentally friendly colours.

Due to the fact that the weave materials flourish as weeds in their home countries, they are practically non-diminishable and thus absolutely environmentally friendly, as they grow so quickly. For Gervasoni, maintaining a good relationship with nature is a primary concern.
This is reflected in their exclusive beds.
The following designers are also active for the company; to name a few:
Jasper Startup, born in London in 1961. Amongst other things, he designed the rattan-ventilator WIND and the lamp BELL for Gervasoni. Michael Sodeau and Marco Piva are also responsible for Gervasonis design department. Since 1999 Gervasoni-products are certified with ISO 9001.
