Desalto stands for the production of high-quality designer-furniture, combined with highly advanced metal processing- made in Italy. In 1991 Desalto Spa was founded in Como Italy by Ettore, Fausto, Ambrigio and Walter Orsenigo. These are also the proprietors of the OMA Studios founded in 1964.
Since then, the Desalto collection has relied on the work of renowned international designers as well as young designers. Shin Azumi, Arik Levy, Hannes Wettstein and Pierluigi Cerri are just some to be named here.
Desaltos concept is conceivably simple: modifying traditional technically elaborate production steps to industrially usable production cycles. The production area, which covers 10.000 square metres, ensures the processing of the raw material all the way up to its finish.
In this way, each production step can be controlled at any time, thus ensuring the optimum quality, for which Desalto-objects are internationally renowned.
