As Classicon says, the time decides what is high in quality. According to this
Classicon tries to create single pieces that have the potential due to their quality
and their appearance to become design-classics on their own. Classicon does not
only work with established designers like Eileen Gray or Eckart Muthesius. Classicon
regards it as their assignment to advance contemporary design because of that
Classicon succeeds to discover young, creative and exciting designers.
Classicon is not geared to the newest trends. Classicons products are characterised
by quality, individuality as well as ageless aesthetics.
Eileen Gray, who started to work with Zeev Aram in the early 70ies, is a considerable
name in connection with Classicon.
In 1975 Zeev Aram got the worldwide licence for the adoption, production and distribution
of Eileen Grays design-icons.
Products that are designed by Eileen Gray are for example the armchair Bibendum
or the legendary Adjustable Table E 1027, which was included in their habitually
collection by the Museum of Modern Art in 1978.
The frame of the Adjustable Table E 1027 is made of a chromed steel pipe, the
table top is made of clear crystal glass, grey coloured glass or black metall.
The carpet St. Tropez is also counts to Eileen Grays design-classics.
This carpet is dedicated to the peninsula that Eileen Gray especially loved.
The name as well as the form of Bibendum can be recovered in the
Michelin man. This fact is just one out of many arguments for Eileen Grays
resourcefulness.
